Just been sent this, what you think guys?
See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it
We are hitting 123.9 a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying 2.00 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't
continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever
thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.
Please read it and join in!
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place
not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not
purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.. Here's the idea:
For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.
If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

The cost of fuel is not the issue, its the extortianate tax and duty that is added on by our charming government

Well isn't the UK the cheapest before tax? Sumin like 49P and 52p?
If anything, if we refused to use BP and Esso for example, they'll just sell their surplus petrol to everyone else as places like tesco etc wouldn't be able to cope so would have to buy from them anyway!
And if anything, i think everyone in the UK on one day, should use public transport to commute to work, refuse to use the cars, use public transport to prove a point to this government that public transport isn't up for it so put the petrol prices down and take it easy on us!!
The country would be on it's knees by earliest 7:45
Rant over......... teehee

ESSO supply Tesco anyway, theyve just opened a Mini Tesco Express with an ESSO petrol station in the pool!

buyers do not control the price of petrol.
petrol is an inelastic good,
which means demand is not responsive to changes in price.
if the price is high people WILL pay, becuase they have too.
theres nothing we can do. prices will only down when petrol is too expensive and people cannot afford to buy anymore.

Taxi could be used? Alright you may have "Mr B" telling you bad jokes about king kong's balls but hey, closest thing to the comfort of your own car!
And yes in all due respect, yes it does smell of piss........... Maybe even the odd BO smell too
Is "frapping" good?

Get you and your lecture note
I remember that shit back in my day.
Well, i've said it before, i'll soon be out of work with these prices. I'm not going to moan anymore, it's pointless.

I think Swill's idea is a good one, there is no way that public transport would cope if everyone had to use it. Obviously not literally everyone as some people would cycle or walk, but you get the idea.
It's true that public transport stinks and is pretty useless most of the time, but it might make them improve it, which would get more people to use it if there were better services.
