Should be alright for your first car mate, check what the insurance would be like before buying, though. Do a quote on gocompare.com or one of those sites so you know what to expect. I've seen a listing on eBay before of a 2ltr Escort that someone bought as their fist car, then couldn't afford to insure it so had to sell it on

82bhp, sound little engine, nothing hardly ever goes wrong with them, imo a much better engine than the 16v one even though it has slightly less power. but it will not come with any goodies, no pas, no leccy windows, it should have central locking though. as said before you buy it make sure you can insure it. also with it been a 94 model check for rust esp the chasis legs as they always tend to go. other than that good 1st car. mine was an 8v sri too which a year later became a redtop

it doesn't seem abad car and it went through and passed an mot on the 28/5/08 so if it can pass an mot its fine in my books haha just needs tax
