Aye that aswell, either that or the Mad Dog 20/20, Tesco was too posh to have that on its shelfs.
Tho in the early days my pocket money would only cover a bottle of cheap cider so feck knows. I just remember getting served from the local pakis at 15 & the local pub at 16. I mind getting barred from the boozer when telling them I was bringing a squad down for my 18th birthday celibrations....they were like hold on you've been drinking in here for 2 years

PMSL
I had my 18th birthday for my 15th, 16th, 17th and 18th
We got on with the guy from 'bliss' the pub we frequented now and he says he always knew we were under age but weren't doing any harm so let us away with it.

Should have smashed the bottle and then claimed you can't pay for it as you can't legally buy the alcohol without ID.
That usually does the trick

Someone did that to me! My mum got a tesco's delivery, and was out, it was my 18th birthday, and i had cards on the windowsill and "happy 18th birthday" baloons all over the place!
But the tesco's man asked me for id (i do look like i am 16) So i had to go find the fucking thing!
My girlfriend asked him "why the hell would he blow up baloons, just to trick tesco's into not asking for id"
They guy had no answer!

They have to apply some common sense.
A couple of 23 year old guys buying cases of beer and bottles of 25 quid bourbon ffs cleary aren't under 18.

I worked in the coop when I was 20 between Uni terms on the actual kiosk (alcohol counter), I finished my shift and went up to that very same counter and got asked for I.D lol, I was like WTF you know I have to be over 18 to work on this till and your not serving me, then guy turns round and says I think you grew some stubble today so you looked old enough to buy beer , think its a power trip half the time TBH

Another example of the death of common sense in this country. The policy is obviously designed to stop one 19 year old with an entourage of 16 year olds buying a load of booze to go and drink in the local park. Common sense dictates that this isn't going to be the case where one of the people is 50. What a farce!

Had a party the other week at my flat. 7 of us went into Tesco for some booze. Thought it was strange that we all had to provide ID though. Dunno how we all had ID on us, one of my mates whipped out his passport He's never gonna live that down

Someone needs to take serious action, like a facebook group or a Tesco death cult or something

I love those kinda groups on Facebook.
Yes, cause making a group about Tesco is going to make them change company policy
