Jun 22. My brother maybe riding in the 250 race.
Hadn't raced for a while, got a ride on a 250 in the thundersport gp2 at Cadwell, GP2 is predominantly a 250 two stroke class up against 600 four strokes.
Anyway he smoked them, won one race by 10 seconds, the next race day after he got a bad start went from the back to finish 2nd, then smoked them the race after again.
The race he finished second his fastest lap was 1.34.358 nearest to that was a rider at 1.35.253!
Hopefully he will get a bit of luck for once.

Yeah should be, he lives and breathes motorbikes so you can imagine how excited he is about it. Just hope it happens for him.

Wow that's pretty impressive Carl, good luck to your bro he sounds fearless

Out of interest, do you think it was cadwell favouring his style or do you think he could compete at donnington?

Not a clue Tom, he hasn't raced for a while, I thought he had packed it in for good, in his previous attempts he has never had the money to compete to be fair, classes like Supersport that he rode in had factory teams nuturing riders up for better classes. Take for instance years ago Chris vermulan was in the same races on a factory bike, pit that against someone with private sponsors etc, you need a lot of luck to ever get that break. Sadly Motorracing, both cars and bkes, money plays a massive part.

Good Luck to him mate, I get upto Cadwell fairly regular and follow road racing all over the place, I love it. Like you say its all down to who can get the backing. A lad local to me who is amazing on the roads is just starting to crack on in BSB this season. Hopefully looking for his first TT win next week aswell. Some proper characters in bike racing, all totally fearless.

This is a vid of an interview with Guy Martin from near me, he's off his head, like Fred Dibnah on speed

They are all nutters, I think you have to have a slight element of your brain missing to be able to go so fast, after having countless injuries previously.

If he enters, make sure he beats Eugene Laverty!

Just spoke to him, basically he will be on his own bike so no chance of doing well, will be tough to qualify, but he is still buzzing. Apparently he has to get backing off yamaha for them to let him race, but there is only 1 yamaha in the race at present as they arn't up to speed with the aprilla's and ktms. Ktms can only be bought if already doing the gps and aprillas are about 40k he says so wont be getting either soon.

There is none that he could just borrow/jump on for that race meeting. Like he says he know he won't be able to compete but it will be an experience none the less.

Just riding with "proper" riders will make him a quicker rider, as i'm sure if he could tag onto one he'd learn loads.

Just a shame the BSB event organisors of a few years ago fucked everything up for GP hopefuls by scrapping the 250cc class!
