Much like the guy who worked out you can fit bmw k1200 bike head to an a series (mini engine), you can bolt up a zetec head to a b series bottom end (BMC engine)

It would certainly cut out a lot of bodywork fiddling....

god knows how you work that out

I think you use a micrometer screw gauge and some vernier calipers

yeah but to think it, then try it, out of all the possibly engines to try is quite cool i think

Must come from just working with so many different engines, types of transport etc. It must get to a point where you take a head off an engine and think "oh wait that has the same pattern as such and such" or whatever?
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe its all good guesses and fucking about in scrapyards.

I liked the one that was in Total Vauxhall a while back. The guy had a Viva I think with a Lotus head fitted to the Vauxhall engine. He said he had to machine new water and oil gallerys in it to get it to fit and work.
