First post here ....
I'm trying to buy a replacement X16XE for my Corsa Sport and I want to be sure that the engine I'm going to look at is the real McCoy and not a 1.4
The Haynes manual says that the engine code (ie X16XE) is stamped on the head near the exhaust manifold at the gear box end..... I can't find anything on my existing engine never mind any replacement.
Is the Haynes manual correct and I'm just blind or the stamp is very small, or is the marking somewhere else entirely
Many thanks

Thanks.
I was thinking the surface looked a bit rough and that could be the case

The bottom end should have 16 cast in to it too should it? My 8v does, woul dhave thought 16v's should be the same.
