After 4 months I'd lost 11lbs so gave up, I didn't have time to be eating constantly like I'd need to to build up, so the extra exercise was just making me lose weight
It really annoys me now tho, I know I'm unfit, the only exercise I get is an hour at football every week and occasional heavy lifting at work but I worry that if I start exercising more, I'll just start losing weight again
When I started going to the gym I weighed 10st 4, after 4 months trying to build up I was 9st 7, I've not managed to get back to 10st since.
I'm forever eating junk but never put weight on, it just generally fluctuates between 9st 6 and 9st 11, really does my head in at times
I'm very similar to this, when I was 17 I weighed 10st 6lb. I got Glandular fever and lost a stone, 10 years later and I still can't put a pound on I have a good diet and get plenty of exercise(play footy regularly), was told to try and build muscle up etc, but when I joined the gym I just lost more weight so I gave up on that. My job used to be very active non stop demanding, but I'm now sat at a desk for 10 hours plus a day and still don't gain. Pisses me right off

Where does everyone get their motivation from ?
I've started and am really trying to look and feel better for the summer but find myself getting distracted to easily.

Basically just perseverence and finally noticing changes when looking in the mirror. I know it sounds vain as fuck, but i find myself looking in the mirror quite a lot these days cos ive lost 34lbs, as i said (and gained a fair bit of muscle too, so obviously lost more fat than that) and i can see for myself that all the effort is paying off. Getting a routine is very important too, if you can get into the mindset of going to the gym, going for a run or whatever, without even thinking twice about it, then its much easier. I go to the pool twice a day every day and its just kinda what i do, i dont really think about it too much
