I'd get distracted if a fit girl was teaching me how to drive.

I agree on that Danny.

I used to talk to my driving instructor about this. He said his insurance was £450/year for a 1.25 Fiesta.

He said if you go with a franchise, to earn anywhere near what they advertise (i.e. £30k) you have to work 7 days a week and quite long hours, because they take so much from you etc.

A lot of women would prefer a same sex instructor imo, a lot of the one's up this neck of the woods are sleazy old men.

Yeah iv been having a look at the franchises, silly money.

Looking to start on my own tbh. Possibly with a classic mini, just wondering how many of you do actually take into account gender of whos teaching you.

And whats wrong with a good looking girl teaching you?

good mix of male and female ones around here, never noticed any nice looking ones!!

Might be a hit with girls though, im sure they would prefer to learn with another woman than a 50 year old man that they don't really know

Female only driving instructor, some women will probably want a female instructor rather than male, could be on to something there.

Nothing is wrong with a good looking girl teaching you, but personally it would put me off as i would be thinking of things to say but i would probably just end up muttering shite, may make young male drivers more nervous.

i went through 4 driving instructors.
The first one was an old man who needed to stop to go to the toilet all the time and use to fart
Second one was SOOOO pervy and touched you and stuff and he got sacked
Third one was also a nutjob who was pervy and hardly spoke english
Fourth one was good

Thinking about it now, i would have prefferred a woman one.

Good job if you go alone and put the hours in but I wouldn't recommend using a mini. You'll be in there all day with all manner of people don't forget!

Kirsty,

I'm female and i looked into this a few months back. Was very serious about taking it up, but i was only looking at all the good things about the job, easy money, work when you want, own boss etc.... but then i started looking at the bad side of it..... Your young, female and alone in a car with a stranger! Enough said! I think i'd rather carry on life at the moment, grow some more wisdom, then once i'm a bit older and wiser could possibly look at doing it again.

As for learning in a mini... all well and good but students will be looking for a moden car with power steering etc.. dont forget it will be the first car they'll ever drive legally, they'll want something decent.

Hope this helps
