anyone do it my mates applied but failed that so has applied to be a ticket man on 18k a year apparently but im sick of him boasting about him applying for train driver and being on 36k a year how hard is it to get in etc?

its his girlfriend shes like that always has to be one better they think that once hes inside ie a ticket guy it will be alot easier to get train driver position

no am happy for him but his girlfriend makes every effort to try and boast couple of weeks she came out with we have the most expensive car the fastest car and the newest car shes a cooo bag
im an apprentice enginner time served in august and will be on 19k a year if i stay in same company and a hell of alot more if i move so i coulnt be happier for him its her i cant stand

I hate girls like that, they think cos there boyfriends got a high salary and there car is nice that she has the same when really she works on the Lotterytill at Asda and drives a 1.1 Fiesta with a tape player to work.

see they have an astra mk4 gsi thats it we have a house 2 cars etc all new stuff tv ps3 top of the range pc but in no way to i boast about things like possesions or money thats not what friends do is it ?
just annoys me so much as he just seems to sit back and let her rip she works at reception

take it from someone whose on the railway - its solid, I applied to be a £25k guard on the first great western trains, passed all the competency tests but didn't get the job, I'm now working on the platforms for arriva trains wales for 14k lol, but its a step on the ladder as vacancies to go higher come up internally first. For every 10 drivers jobs there can be about 300 applicants. Railways are really hard to get into unless you know someone who knows someone or have had some past link - i did my work experience doing my current job and i'm convinced thats what got me in.
