Sad to see it go, but I don't use it anymore
Need a cheapish car, so having a look about now on PH & ebay etc
Seen this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280222795500&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018
Looks quite clean, very close to where I live
Plus the engine parts will be cheap to fix as they're a VW engine

if it goes for £1k bargain
looks quite mint, low miles and you can then say to the gives you 'drive a porsche'
I did think i saw a rear strut brace initially ... but then realised it was the rear seats

My dad had one of these when i was about 7.
Obviously i was completely amazed and always wanted a go in it, but now im older i realise that its just a fake Porsche with a VW engine.
Steer clear IMO.

The 924 had a Audi engine, but the replacement (the Porsche 944) had a 2.5 Porsche designed engine (designed around the 5.0 in the 928). That Porsche looks like a 944 to me, and if it is, it doesn't have a 'VW Van' engine.
EDIT: The reg and age of the vehicle would suggest it is in actual fact, a 924, in which case, the engine was taken from a 4cl Audi/VW.

924 is one of the best handling cars ever. You certainly wont have more fun in anything else for around £1500.

like said the engine isnt quite the same as the vw/audi version, it was built around it yes as it was the best way of keeping costs down hence why the same block was used but cylinder head and a lot of other parts were changed to get more power,so if you get a vw engine and stick it in expecting the same power....your in for a big shock it was mated to an audi gearbox tho
porsche got a lot of flack for having a vw thingy car but thing is from the very beginning back when it was project they were involved with that car after all it was them designed most of it for vw/audi and was then sold to porsche when vw/audi changed there minds, the 924 saved porsches ass and without it and the 944 they would most certainly have went under as at the time the 911 was seriously struggling and the other cars just werent bringing in the sales either and were slowly slipping into the red
you know porsche like the car when you read about there top men praising it even 30 years on
did you get it?

I'd have had a bid on it if it weren't for the fact that my insurance wouldn't let me add it on to my existing policy. Didn't want to go canceling my policy 6 months in just for a runabout
I'm not sure if Im getting a runabout now, might just rush to get my 2.0 Corsa back on the road in a lower than planned spec, then build it up as I got along
