Because Dave from marketing turned up to work in his company Mondeo in his grey suit and said to his boss that the work 'tec' is cool because it's like the word tech but spelled wrong and tech is shortform for technology. To which Dave's fat balding boss thought that he would listen to him as he has a degree in marketing.
