Handed in my notice a week ago, got 3 weeks to work, was meant to be 7 but they are letting me go early.

Ive been working for UK Online / Easynet / SKY for 6 years so starting a new job is gonna be strange

After the last 6 years you kinda get used to doing the same thing everyday, i live a mile away from the office, so used to just being that close, going home for lunch etc.. im now going to be working nationaly and possibly internationaly so thats gonna take some getting used to!

Anyone else had a long term job for the same company and then left? is it sumit you get used to easily being the newbiee again

I dont want to be known as the newbiee

I've always had new jobs as I've nearly always had temp jobs. Get used to a new place pretty quick but I think a lot of it depends on what people already working there are like.

I've been in the same place since college, 10 years. I keep saying I'm going to leave but I like the location, the people I work with, the job I do kind of but the money is crap. I've been saying for years I'm leaving but I'm lazy and hate the thought of starting a new job

Was a similar situation for me, i really like the place, the people i work with, the work has got crap though, then suddenly a job comes up local'ish which has a good oppurtunity, and i kept telliing myself its better to stay put, then other people where like go for it, so i did

Just now i keep coming up with downsides!

Like im gonna have to pay £65 per month for SKY now

I got a feeling you're gonna feel its strange initially anyway, as you'll not know people and it'll be different routine etc. but on the other hand will probably make it good / exciting etc....

important thing is, are you earning more?

I started in a new job after being in the old one for 7 years.

The routine took ages to get used to but that's cos I work from home!

I start a new job on Monday, I quite enjoy meeting new folk though (unless they turn out to be cunts) love it how you don't know them etc then months later you feel like you have known them all your laugh. Awesome when you mean proper sound folk.

I worked for Tesco in the same local store for 8 years, worked my way up through various job roles. But I packed it in 2 weeks ago and started a new job as a CAD Technician in Glasgow. It is weird being the newbie again and commuting every day. And it totally different to what I've always done in retail! But I am loving it though

just get one of your current colleagues to sort your subscription out?

Surely you have the contacts for that?

Well done on the new job. It helps to change scenery every now and then. It's far to easy to get into a rhythm of work, and never strive for better.

I left my previous job after almost 5 years, but went to work at a small company who all had worked at the previous company anyway, so i knew them already.
