Thinking of getting a bike for the summer but im unsure on the laws about what i can / cant ride...
I did my CBT at 16 but im sure thats expired now
Im 21 with full UK licence, driving 4 years.
Would i need to do my full bike test to ride anything above 50cc?
Cheers

direct.gov website says after 17 you can ride any cc motorbike aslong is its restricted to 33bhp and no more than 0.16kw/Kg - is this on a CBT or a full test?

you dont need to redo your cbt aslong as you past your car test within 2 years of doing your cbt iirc

you need a CBT to ride anything on the road even a learner bike
the theory is different from a car one, by way that its from a bikes point of veiw and not a car
I think the therory and to a lesser extent the CBT are money making scams
but yeah you will have to do all 3, the practical bike test is far easier than the car test though

cbt would have expired so best taking it again mate.
16 for a 50cc
17 for a 125cc
over that you can ride any bike under 31bhp
21 you can ride unlimited after you passed your riding test on a 31bhp bike.
that help?

My CBT says this on the back (taken 24/09/05)
"This certificate also validates, for the life of the license, the full moped entitlement granted with a full car license issued in respect of a practical car test passed on or after 1 February 2001 if, either:
*the car test is passed within 2 years of this certificate being issued, or
*the training course was completed after the car test was passed"
Hope that helps!

Cheers Rich,
So what does that mean to me? Im 21 now so can i just do a CBT and ride anything up to 33bhp or do i have to take a full motorcycle test to do that?
Basically i dont want a scooter! Was thinking 250 - 400cc something like DRZ-400E (may need restricting )
