I am currently trying to sell my car on ebay and haven't had much luck. Does anyone have any tips as to what i should change (only helpful ones please).

I have tried to be as open and honest, but older cars that are the same or worse are selling easier and for more

Thanks

Soon as i seen it was a MINI i thought right away that it would be overpriced, Suprisingly its a very reasonable price for the age, spec and miles on it.

Try it on Autotrader.

The fact that its on some form of HPI (no matter what way you say it, It is) will put people off.

I find the writing a bit big tbh. I find it easier to read the smaller writing.

Thanks for the response. I agree about the HPI thing, but there's no way around it. Would rather tell people up front instead of saying, "by the way..." Suppose I'll just have to keep trying

Yeah, Its illegal to not advise them and if someone tells your finance company then your in trouble so your doing it right tbh.

Yours is alot more than mine but when i sold my MINI i just borrowed the 9k to pay off the finance then sold it as it was no longer on HPI.

Thats the only thing i can see wrong as MINI's are sought after cars. I bought mine for 9k a year ago, and i sold it for 9k last month.

Yours is well priced and a good spec, The only issue is the fact that its on HPI.

Good luck selling it, You'll miss it at first, I miss mine.

I need to settle nearly £13,000 then they'll send confirmation. I don't have the cash to, so am using the proceeds from the sale (if it ever happens) to pay for that. I have offered people who asked about it to send the money direct to them and pay me the balance as the deposit.

I had one guy asking if i was using a solicitor to repay the loan, which sounded odd, but can see where he's coming from.

Read the advert again and cant seem to work it out...lol

How long has it been on sale for?

Just as a rough idea, I sold mine for 9k and this was the spec:

2002 Mini Cooper
Chilli Pack
TLC Pack
32,000 Miles
Full MOT and TAX
Lohen Remap
16" White Alloys
Full Window Tins and Pentagon Supa Glass Security Film
Cooper-S Suspension
Colour magic Interior (Red)
2 owners

£9100.00

It will sell no bother in about a months time when everyone wants convertibles again, But i'd certainly think of your options with the HPI.

Can you not take out a loan to re-pay the HP on the car before you sell it?
Bank loan would probably be lower interest anyway...

This would put me off buying a car, there is no guarantee that you will pay it off once the deal has been done, im sure your a genuine seller but someone who doesn't know you isn't going to hand over £12k for a car that isn't theirs.

Your selling a car that doesn't actually belong to you (legally)
