How are these put on?

I had some on my C. Came with them when i bought it.
Woke up today and some piece of scum has stolen them.

Thought there was some way they couldnt be jst taken.

they are just basically pushed up into window rubber, and held there by the window etc etc

i have had them on all my cars and as far as i know if you were to take them off with the window up they would almost certainly snap?

I've got them on my C and cant see them being easy to take off with the window up...are there ant scratches/scrapes on the window where theyve removed them?
