Lol @ pushing out 150+bhp.
On a good day that may make the standard 130bhp.
But seeing as most 2L 8v's are ancient nowadays, most dont even make book figures.

16v is a far superior engine.

Yeh from what he said its had done i couldnt see it having 150bhp but yeh think i may hold out for a 16v, got my eye on one but it means my dad and bro going to look at it and pick it up as its only 30 mins drive from them in england, iv seen it PH and also got extra info/pics off the seller.Cheers for the info/advice, think il stay away from the 8v now

Not all that much tbh, i had a few quotes and the lowest come back at around 800. live in a good postcode area, very very low crime rate so that helps alot

8v's are 130bhp mate and as said by planty there more torquey engines then the 16v.id have an 8v 2.0 anyday

Usually about 150 torque on the XE. I've no idea where folk get the more torque in an 8v argument from

Depends what 8v engine, some are 115bhp. And they don't have more torque!!

an 8v engine feels more torquey low down. that gets translated to 8v has more torque full stop

I love that everyone is saying the 8v has more torque. Thats not true at all

They just make their peak torque alot earlier in the rev and they make a better shape curve. Thats all, so it feels like it has more torque.

imo, a tuned 150bhp 8v is better than a stock 150bhp 16v, but you might as well get a DOHC 2.0 for the money.
