Who has experience with them then?
Guy is coming to pick my car up Sunday and wants to pay via one.
I've scoured the internet and found out just about everything I can about them but i'm still not 100% happy about it.
I know that if they are genuine they are as good as cash because they are drawn from the banks account and not the individual.
I know that if they are fake or stolen i'd be up shit creek.
I can apparently phone the bank up with the details to confirm that it has in fact been issued
There are lots of horror stories and people saying don't do it but if the bank will infact confirm they have issued it and I make sure he's not made a photocopy or anything to give me I can't see how I can be done?
Any input?

The bank issue a reciept, maybe ask to see that? I've used one before to pay for a car & did that, was how I accepted payment for my car too
Could always go to the bank with him whilst he's there. Would mean rearranging the date though

If it was when the bank was open I wouldn't have any issues, the Sunday thing is the main problem.
He's from Rugby and flying up to here so not too much play with the days.

The bank wont give a cheque if the person doesnt have the funds cleared into their account
Ring his bank and ask them to confirm its genuine

Natwest I'm sure he said, he's quite happy to give me the details, I just hope the bank will give me an answer and none of this data protection rubbish.
Guy seems genuine, I'd be very dissapointed in myself if it turned out to be a scam because i like to think i'm more on the ball than that but I've never dealt with these before so a bit wary.

I will be ringing them tomorrow as soon as he contacts me with the details, I can't find out until the morning when they open though, was just looking for any experiences of them tonight.

Went to my bank to ask what I should be looking for, they were totally useless, woman was catering for an idiot instead of being able to answer my questions.
Just need to see how it goes.

Lot of help you lot were.
For future reference, guy got the draft, I phoned his bank, bank confirmed that they had given it out.
