New cars to live with everyday. Old cars to keep in the garage to take out on a nice weekend for a couple of hours.

If i'm racing around a track, then older cars imo - as they're lighter and more parts available / less money wasted if crashed.

If I'm taking a girl out to dinner, or picking up mates - new car all the way. People can be so shallow about cars, more so when they know nothing about them.

I'd only really want a new car to please / impress other people really, otherwise i'd happily have older cars any day.

Hit the nail on the head for me there, I used to pick girls up in my brothers Golf 4 Mo and leave the Mk3 Astra at home Same when I had the Omega, it goes back to the top gear wall in effect, try explaining to a girl its got more character, more fun to drive, or a nice big engine
