Its always the way that everyone goes "yes deffo up for this" and come the met time theres about 2 people still going

Needs plenty of notice (for people to book holidays), exposure, commitment (from both organisers and members)

Maybe if we did book something people would have to pay a deposit which would make them more likely to show?

Exactly, I bet loads of people would jump to the "yeah brill ill be there" but then won't actually turn up. This is why I'm thinking if we are actually doing something, NOW is the time to do it.

Yep. If it's going to be a weekend thing rather than a one day meet then things should get moving asap. Eg. Organisers nominated for the event, lists drawn up, prices and dates

Im happy to put a helping hand in.

TBH, all you'd need to do book a campsite and probasbly a whole/good section of a pub depending on the amount of interest. A deposit would be good.
