Right first off let me just say sorry for putting this on here (i'm doing it for my stepbro who is deciding whether to get one or not)

I just wanted to ask what are they like in general in comparison to say a corsa sport???

Im not on about speed etc, but what are they like to drive???

And for those of you who have done it before what subtle mods would you recommend???

Thanks

Ash

ex owner

standard for standard the saxo is miles ahead imo

saxo's interior is maybe a bit poorer and is prone to the odd rattle but then so was my corsa

also reliability wise i owned both cars a year and a half the saxo needed one wishbone replacing the corsa had endless electrical faults and just generally a dog

but then i understand that its just your luck with past owners

I was told that they are roughly the same speed (although sport being 16v is a tad quicker top end)

but the VTR is cheaper insurance and better on fuel

Since your not talking about speed, I have drove a furio and they are nice cars to drive, there cumfy and handle well.
The only thing i hate is the gear stick it wobbles about to much, the peddles are to close together and the car in general falls apart

VTR all day long,

Same as Edd reliability with my saxo to corsa, corsa had so many sensor faults and crap like that.. Saxo had no trouble other than a track rod end and a coil pack in 14 month's.

Also you will have 10x the fun in a saxo

There's a slight problem with this however very easily fixed, 13 mm bolt underneath passenger footwell in engine bay works it self loose, tighten that up and its sorted and it realyl does transform the car too when the gears are tight

tbh any car can be a dog by how the previous owners have treated it, in my opinion saxo vtr's look really nice if their slammed on vts wheels but if it was up to me i would have a corsa over a saxo anyday i donno why lol but theirs just somat about corsa's i love

Saxo VTR quicker than a 1.6 16v Sport all day long even top end. I've driven several Sports and drive my brother's VTR a lot.

In the end it was the reason I went French in the end.

Also I dont think a sport with a full exhaust, filter and no rear seats could run into the 15's standing quarters. You will find the car initially real nippy with just yourself in the car but add another person and you'll feel it

I used to hate Saxo's for no reason at all, when my brother got one I was pleasantly suprised.

Will return over 40mpg too without trying too.

I agree with what dan said any car can be a dog its a matter of if its been looked after. I've owned 2 pug 205s before my corsa and never had a problem with either. Owned the corsa longer and not had a problem with it

I had a Saxo VTR, wasnt a bad car, was by no means good though

Im gonna say it.... A corsa is better made interior wise, and mechanical wise, not sure about the electrics though

corsa is more comfy,

Saxos are fun cars to drive though
