Stripped the rear of the corsa today (rear seats/belts/plastics) etc whole rear. Bought a heat gun to remove the sound deadening, so much easier than a chisel and hammer!!
But what a friggin task it is to get the glue/adhesive off! Tried Autoglym tar remover and paint stripper. What a mess lol, cleaned it all up and started sanding down for a coat of gloss black. Anyone else find it a mission to remove all that crap. The sound deadening stuff I removed from the rear must have weighed bout 2Kgs!
Looks a mess at the moment, will get some pics when all sprayed up

Glue is a nightmare, the actual sound deadening isn't too bad!

Sanding is the only option really, bit of a nightmare bringing products into the equation lol.
Get it sprayed, and get the pics sorted

The car is currently on my drive, open the tailgate and you can just see stripped paint/brown tar residue etc.
Started sanding with 60 grit paper and it's coming up like a new coin
Will take a while, but like you say it will look superb when sprayed all gloss black
Sat in some Corbeau Forzas today and think I may make a purchase

@ whittie:
The sound deadening came soooooooo easy, as for products they took a lot of the glue off and the paint, and now I've cleaned it all down sanding is the way I'm going to make the rest smooth for painting.
Will take a while but be worth it
Also caught my arm on the 300 degree nozzle. Damn that fucking hurt

Not touching the front, going for stripped and gloss blacked rear, front and rear
strut braces and bucket seats with 3 point harneses
Will need some 90mm springs on the rear though to bring the back end down after removing all the back!

Cheers fellas
Paint stripper although messy doesn't hold back on getting it all of. Looks a bit of a mess now but after some hardcore sanding will be sorted and ready for spray
Steve, nice project there. That's some strippage!
