What would be the best thing to use on swirlmarks?
Want to bring my car up, as at the moment it's flat and the paint is like swirl central....
I'm thinking, one layer of t-cut, megs stage 1 & 2, claybar, autoglym polish & zymol wax...?
I've got all that in the garage, but was wondering what other off the shelf cleaning products would be good to remove swirls & get a glass finish?
No more than £100...
Also what about machine buffers? Can you get a decent one for around £50?
I would ask on detailing world, but it doesn't let me post

Scratch X. Its good for removing swirls by hand.
You wont get a decent machine polisher for £50.

How much for a decent one then?
Don't really want to spend £100+, is it easy to buy new pads for them etc?

autoglym SRP for masking the ligth swirls. works wonders.
Meguiars's 3 stage for a wet look super smooth finish.
http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/ is a great website to use, and if you want any advice on cleaning a black car, just email the guy and he'll give you some great advice

1) A machine polisher
2) SRP is actually the best thing to hide swirl marks by hand
3) You will not be able to remove swirl marls with the products in you garage
4) Machine buffers. Try a Megs G220. Bout £200 all in with polishes and pads

Thanks , i've also got t-cut scratch remover. Never used it though
I want my black car looking like the red one

Ben / Hamish... Where could I get pads from if I was to get the machine buffer? Do you have to change pads often?

Depends on the type of pads.
As there are several different makes.
Go onto Detailing World forums and have a poke around on there

i think someone said it cost them £70 on here before.
does orange get ''noticeable'' swirl marks? hope not, white does but only in direct sunlight.
polishing pads are on cleanyourcar.co.uk or elitecarcare.co.uk, just type polish pad in the search button

Don't get a dark car is the answer
Guy at work keeps finding scratches on his black MX5 and always moaning about it. My black 307 has not seen polish in it's life Just don't see the point in keeping it nice when some badger will damage it, does over 2000 miles a month and i'll be lucky to see the book price when i sell it.
Plus, i hate it!
