we have an m3 touring car in at the moment, fantasticly well built car but was running standard management, we added gotech mfi pro x which allowed us to retain the vanos control and map the vanos properly, gained 40lbft of torque which will be nice.
also the pro x (as does the pro) has launch control, so we had a play, sounds awesome! sadly my phone didn't seem to pick up the flames and noise so well! but im sure robin will agree it sounds fantastic!

My mate has launch control on his EG Civic - Because it has sooo much torque
But seriously it does make a difference to 1/4 times.
Nice wee extra IMO

Sort of.
The launch control stops the engine from revving above a point which you've chosen (about 4k in this case), then slowly allows the engine to rev by changing the ignition timing, so the car doesn't break traction.
In that vid, I'm sat in the car with my foot on the floor, thumb on the LC button on the steering wheel and it won't rev above 4k. When the revs start to climb, that's because I've taken my thumb off the button.
The outside vids show it off better.

It was running for about 15 minutes before we did the vid
The LC is fully adjustable, you can change it to suit whatever track you're going to, so, if you're at Santa Pod, you might want the rev limiter at 5.5k, as there's loads of grip, but then at Bruntingthorpe, you're going to want it lower, say 3.5k, as it's not as grippy.
Obviously it's not a drag car, but that's the best example I could think of
It's awesome, in threory, when the bloke is racing the car, every start he does should be perfect.

LC is good shizzle when set up right, fella I know has it on his 206 cossie!
Does sound savage and bit miss treating but your not bouncing it of the real limiter!

on this set up you can adjust the launch rpm, then you can set a time scale of how long it will take to allow the ignition and fueling to go back the the original map, and instead of just jumping back you can also map how the change back to standard takes place, if that makes any sence. awesome bit of kit for the money!
car is fantastic, has everything from air jacks to data logger and proper display. i think i want the car!
amazing that an off the shelf ecu with a loom can do anti lag, launch control, flat shift, fully sequential set up and the scope to do fly by wire for £600!
as for it taking the punishment the engine was built especially for endurance racing by BMW, so everything will be blueprinted and no corners cut!

when he holds the launch control button in it switches to a seperate part of the ecu which makes adjustments to the mapping, i.e. new rev limit, retarted ignition and different fueling, to adjust the power delivery etc!
