Was thinking of been kinder to the enviroment and buying a new car like an 04 CTR or clio 182

Might keep the planet killing gsi insted just to avoid paying the fuckers

Its like all things though it wont stop people. same with them putting up the price of drinks etc. Wont stop people they will just pay more regardless. I know I probably will end up doing it.

I will laugh at their expense if this has the oposite effect and everyone ends up with cat less rust buckets and we pollute more then before

I might go for a nice 4.5L V8 Cerbera intead of a 2L 16v S2000 next. The money saved on Tax can pay for a bit of the fuel/repairs

Another way to fuck them over is everyone buys really economical cars and those that have £0 tax (VW Bluemotions) or £35, such as 1.3 CDTi Corsa's.

That way, cars are too slow to speed (no speeding tax. . .I mean fines), don't spend much on fuel, nor on tax.

We'd go into the middle ages

Well as it gets closer to the new tax rules taking effect all us with our old cars (my R reg Escort 1.8 for example) should see a jump in resale value do you think with people looking for cars with a bit of poke or comfort that doesnt cost the world?

I read a very funny reply on PH before, someone said their TVR Griffith had gone up £15, like that is going to stop him using it!

You basically need anything pre 2001 and over 1550cc as they're all in exactly the same category. So your average family runabout Focus is the same as said TVR.

I'm curious as to whether you can ring an old car with a car you currently own. Wouldn't even matter if it went on a Q plate because as that normally means that the year of manufacture can't be determined they would surely have to price it lower?

*Sets about sourcing a pre 2001 Rover 75 write-off*
