On a 12v, 0.1bhp from straight through and open cone

The 318is is 140bhp standard. Thats a 30bhp jump to 170bhp from just a cone filter. Must have a turbo fan aswell paired with a ebay chip to see those gains.

What is he hoping for If anything he'd lose power. The induction system on BMW's doesn't take kindly to being altered.

Aye - I remember Dave A saying that the BHP on either a 330ci or M3 dropped with changed induction.

TBH the intake and exhaust on BMW's really is good as standard. You do get gains from proper induction kits and exhausts still.

Dave A never commented on exactly what kit was fitted or provided pictures of the fitment so thats inconclusive!

i no a lad who put a filter on an old escort n told us it gave him 35 bhp

on the box it said 3-5 bhp

max power stickers are known to give 50bhp if you put them in the right place.
