Ok im bored of the bmw and im thinkin about getting either an Evo 3 or a rex 7.
What would you lot go for?
The evo would be better for passengers but ive always loved the rx7's.
Ive got a budget of about 5k, i dont want a high mileage evo and same with the rex 7 as i heard they really need a rebuild every 60k.

evo for 5k will need constant attention, I seem them all of the time and parts etc are never cheap.

If I had 5k and wanted reliable fun with a jap car I would buy a uk spec 200sx (sr20det engine) and spend 1k on it and have 280+ bhp and every day relaibility and cheap maintainence costs.

I'd have a Pulsar GTiR (sr20det again)

Prices of RX7s have dropped loads recently, so you can probably get a tidy one for that. Theres a few posts in this forum regarding them.

i'd go for a RX7 all day long..

only problems ive found with the rx7 is that about every 40k or so you need to change the compression tips, but if you get ceramic one put in then they last longer.. oh and always carry some oil with you as they do tend to drink a little

it has come accross my mind, ive even considered a honda integra.
But i dont want an m3, if its anything like my bmw. My bmw is pretty fast but its not fun to drive. It sounds silly but when i had my 106 gti i used to push it through all of the corners and it was such a fun drive. its just not the same with the bmw

RX7 all day long, do not listen to all this crap about tips need replacing and engines blow up blah blah blah, mine last way into 80K before needing a rebuild!!

Great cars, amazing power, easy to tune, handling is spot on, looks ace,

what did you expect from a big bulky car? the bmw is a motorway cruiser not a country road thrash car.

The FD model (3rd Gen same as mine) there was loads of versions.

Type R is the traditional one to go for.

To add to what Nath said, theres loads of models, but they're all Twin Turbos, unless someone has changed it to a single turbo. 126 were UK cars, but they're quite rare compared to the imports.
