I've driven a 1.2, 1.4 Fabia and the vRS so I know what they're like. I don't use the car like I used to, don't drag it anymore and basically use it to get to and from work with the odd blast down the ring road.
Theres nothing else I could get that would be cheaper on fuel and servicing.

Well i WORK for Skoda so i know what there like too 
Sounds to me like you have already made your mind.Even though you don't use it properley anymore means nothing.The effortlessness of the way a scooby drives even at normal speeds is what i like about them and that is what i eventually missed.It wasn't all about outright speed.

Oh and before you buy a VRS let me know and i'll find you one at the exact spec you want and can even deliver it to you through work.
