a pressed plate and a standerd plate would look the same, just what is made off is diffrent 
unless your useing german or french font

pressed plate with either UK front or French font, like mine 
you can definitely tell the difference between standard and pressed plates in real life, even if it has the stand UK font by the way

someone posted on here before with UK font pressed plates and the looked different from normal acrylic ones.
i thought the same as you, that's why i got french font, but they definitely differ, although it is a subtle difference at that.

they look diffrent close up because they are pressed and not flat plastic 
french font is nice tho, uk font is abit of a waste on pressed plates imo, best to get german or french font like you ben

I think i may go for pressed plates as i really like them and i can certainly tell the difference.
Prob wont bother with german style though as cba with the local police.

you will get pulled for them being made out of metal, and not being reflective, not just the font mate, and i got pulled twice for mine in wolvo area

mine are reflective? and german font is much more obvious than UK or french.
