Hi peeps,
Im new to corsa sport so not sure if this is the right section or what not!
Anyway, got a mate with a 1.8 corsa c (z18xe)
And we want to fit a turbo onto it, everyone goes down the route of dblias but its got to be different!
could you recommend a turbo? obviously needs a custom manifold, but how would it be piped up?
Thanks

Theres normally a reason people stay with the same things when it's that important, because they want it right. Drive in - drive out at Regal is £4500 on a Z18XE if I remember correctly, ok a fair chunk but thats everything fitted and a reliable 235bhp with 12 months waranty. I know what i'd be doing!!

I would source the Dlbas bits from Germany and find someone competant at fitting it all as i'd rather burn my money than take it to Regal

but we dont want to go down the dblias route, there is only so much dblias can give!
we want to go something bigger, my question is more how would you run the pipes from the turbo?

I'm thinking if your going to try this and have the knowledge to do it then surely you have the knowledge to work that out??
Sorry if that sounds a lil nasty but there's a lot, lot more to it than just bolting on a turbo, ie. Compression etc.....

And on what Diblas can give they got 260bhp from the kit bolted onto a standard engine. They de-tuned it to be reliable and so they could waranty it. You'll need to do a lot of internal work if you want big power, crank, head etc... And thats going to be costly, it'll probably cost as much to get the Z18 XE to a point strong enough etc as an Astra Vxr engine. Just put the money straight on to the Z20 LET....
I know it's not what you want to do but the Z20 LET is made for what your after, just use that but go to town on it instead.
It'll be a far stranger engine than the Z18 XE and a lot less hastle. They fit quite easily into C's.

firstly, thanks for the advice,
my corsa c runs a z20let, this is not for me, im asking on behalf of a friend!
he has modded alot to his z18xe, internals, inlet manifold, full exhaust system with custom manifold etc etc etc
so he wants to turbo it but doesnt want to go down the dblias route...

Fitting the turbo wont be your biggest problem really, If you want to make any serious power increase then you will need to lower the compression and go for new management. Id guess to do it properly yourself you will be looking at 2k by the time you have had it mapped. It would be cheaper to put a turbo engine in to start with but if he has his heart set on keeping that engine then fair play to him. like Ryk says though its not just as easy as plumbing a turbo in

I would talk to Prism Motorsport they have done a couple of Saxo Turbos that I know of and they have been quite reliable.
