I think they came out about 2006ish, I know the first one I saw in the flesh was at the British Motor Show 2006 anyway

261bhp 0-60 5.5sec 155mph.
M is 3.2 338bhp 0-60 4.8sec 155mph

Theres a 3L convertible Z4 nearby for £13475. Ive always maintained id never buy a convertible.

Function over form....id never get the use of a soft top living in Scotland. We get 1 week of good weather a year. The other 51 id be cursing & swearing at myself for owning a pointless soft top.
Ive had a targa top (removable glass panels) before....had them off about twice in the 20 months I had it!

Id have the roof off anyday it wasnt raining TBH
lovely scottish road, nice and wrapped up with the roof off, listening to the straight six
I want one now 
convertible with the hardtop would be the best bet cause you always have the option
