well after 8 months of it being in storage to get repaired it's finally almost ready to be sold

this is what happened last june after a van drove into the side of me (claim settled his fault and i received a £2200 payout for the car)

bought the car back from insurance for a bargain price of £50

then got my uncles mate to spray up the passenger side and fix the dent in the rear quarter (wasn't a priority job so was sat in storage for 6 months)

me and my dad have had it in the garage for a while now gradually putting things back on and it's almost ready to go to VOSA or something to make sure it's roadworthy then just needs an mot and tax and it's ready to sell

so some pics for you if you're interested, i know it's just a standard corsa now but it's been a very long and hard fought process with the insurance and i'm just glad it's nearly done!

garage

reflections

beware of the dog

how much would it be worth when i come to sell it? any approx answers will be great. tried parker but not sure due to it being a cat d write off but fully repaired to a great standard.

1.2 16v sxi
1999 - v reg
64k miles
backbox + tints all round
headgasket and other things replaced at a cost of over £700 2 weeks before the accident, receipts to prove (done about 100 miles since it was replaced)
will have 12 months MOT
6 months tax
cat d write off
won't need anything doing to it either

sorry for the long winded thread by the way

Nice work, either way you should be up a fair bit. You did well getting £2200 out of the insurance. I'd put it up for about £1500-1700

cheers mate, just got to add the last few things such as passenger headlight, rear wiper, vauxhall badge on boot lock, front bumper lower grille and a new tyre on drivers side front then should be mint enough to sell on.

don't want to sell it all tatty and shit you see, so i've spent 5 hours washing, claying, polishing and sealing the paintwork yesterday and today

it has got a few light scratches (passenger wing, one about 4cm on the boot and a mark on the rear bumper) but will come out if someone has an electric polisher, can't remember what they are called

i was going to put it up for about £1,000 anyway, which i feel is cheap enough for a decent car with a brand new headgasket + afm + thermostat + a few other bits i think.

i'd say around a 1k or less, as it's been a write off, and they are never worth as much as if it didn't happen etc

It's only worth 1500 private in good condition so i'd say a k would be lucky, don't know where the 1500-1700 valuations are from
Although might as well stick it up at that and see if somebody like one of the valuers here will buy it.

cheers for the price guides tbh as long as it sells for more than £800 i'll be happy just need to get it out of the garage because it's taking up too much space
