Ibiza weighs what, 1150kg?
mk4 Golf Annis are 1200kg.

With 188bhp, Fro's mk4 Golf ran a 14.9 quarter.

That means a chipped Ibiza Cupra would be marginally quicker, maybe 14.8, if the gear ratios are the same.

The STANDARD Integra can do a 14.2.

It's faster.

Not to mention the fact that the Integra is considerably better round corners than an Ibiza.

But people drive to their destination by stopping, then doing a standing quarter mile drag, stopping and repeating the process all the way Adam...

yeh Robin and for any doubters of how the integra could be that much quicker...

Lighter, better gearing and LSD that allows 8k rpm launches

a ibiza will just sit on the line spinning the wheels, or bog down and crawl off.

At the end of the day, I'd probably have a Dc2 right now if i had somewhere to park it.

The Jap Series Motoring International had 2 integra dc2's do the 1/4 mile in 14.2 secs!!!

that's rapid.

It's not about straight line either with the teg, it handles amazingly.

As said by Rob R ibiza's are over rated, yes you can get lots of power out of them, but they don't launch very well, are heavy and don't handle that way.

My mate had one remapped to 240 bhp and it still wasn't that amazing.

Mine pulled a 2.3 60ft, thats pretty good for a car with only 200 bhp in my eyes

As I explained to you on msn though mate, it doesn't really matter what car it is, on track days, it's more about the driver and his ability to drive, and how hard he wants to drive.

You could sort the suspension on your ibiza and probably be capable of beating dc2's around a track.

Or you could buy a dc2 and probably be capable of beating high spec ibiza's with sorted suspension around track.

Although you could have either and mince around slowly and be overtaken by loads of cars... You see what I'm saying, on track, it's honestly less about how quick the car is in a straight line or even through the bends... that's only a fraction of how quick the car will be.

like How good a car will be on track day =

15% of how quick it goes in a straight line, 15% of how well it handles the bends, 30% of driver skill, ability, correct line and smoothness / throttle control and then 40% Balls ... what I mean by 'Balls' is that, to go quicker than someone else, you need to brake later, carry more speed, keep flat out for longer etc.

A lot of people on track days, actually stop accelerating or 'lift their foot slowly off the accelerator' as they reach higher speeds they are uncomfortable with ... (as they really don't want to go much quicker knowing a bend is approaching) ... but if you've got it nailed all the way, you'll catch them, even if their car is capable of higher speeds than yours (just because they're not utalising their cars full potential).

End of the day... on the road or pub stats you can probably make the ibiza quicker in a straight line... on the road or pub stats you will probably find the integra dc2 to be superior in handling.

On track... Well it's all down to how you drive them and realistically you can probably beat other people in other cars, in either a sorted ibiza or a sorted integra if driven better than most people on the track day.

Obviously Teg would excel in the corners, but only if you drive it fast enough through the corners to warrent it's extra grip and handling.

Probably the Ibiza would excel down the straights once moving, with 4th / 5th gear acceleration and top end being superior, but only if you are willing to keep your foot hard on the accelerator (after all the next corner will always approach after a straight and the quicker you go, the more you'll have to brake and slow down for next bend!)...

I'd personally still go dc2 out of the 2, A good driver in the dc2 should beat the ibiza every day.
