TBH some of the gullwing door conversions are pretty cool - certainly a lot more dramatic that bodging some dodgy hinges and a boot strut into your wheel arch to make a "lambo door" .

Red Manta

Flat nose 911s

Fat Nova

Silver Renault 11 Turbo

Are all relatively timeless and quite tasteful but some of the cars have aged really quite badly. The poolos very nearly made me vomit. But then they always do that anyway.

Wide red Scirroco with Countach style doors is very interesting but red Countach is a crime against humanity.

I wonder if any of those Mercs are Chameleon cars. I remember seeing their stand at one of the motor shows when I was little. They used to make bespoke stuff for Arabs.

I fucking love the 80'2. However that Mr2 posted previously was everything i hated about the 80's and japaneese cars of the time. Green digital clocks sum it up for me.

Mk2 Astra is boss.

A lot of the other widearch stuff looks good as well. I like that in those days it was only done on big money cars, didn't have the bad name that it does now.

You can tell by the age of the cars and the amount of work going in to them - cutting the roof off a big Merc won't have been cheap.
