Just a question for the fish folks, im currently running a 130 litre coldwater tank, holding snails, goldfish, shabunkins, loaches etc, and im thinking about upgrading to a bigger tank. Just wondering what the differences are with caring for tropical fish etc, and whether its worth it?
I love the fish you can get for a tropical tank, just dont know whether it is worth it now i have a well set up coldwater tank. And with tropical i'd never be sure on what fish can go in with other etc.
Thanks

not really hard, all I do on mine is a 20% water change each week.
All you need is a filter, heater and lighting

as sand eel said the only difference is the heat of the water.
when it comes to cleaning them out you cant use 100% new water either.
also when u first start your tropical set up you will need to get some guppy's and platy's etc to get the water to the right spec for the other tropical fish i.e clown, angel.
Cat fish can go straight in a tropical tank iirc. and theyre quite cool.

i kept trops for about 2 years with no probs, i did water changes every 2-3 months. if you have a good filter there will be no probs, most fish will get along with each other aswell.
