whats available for around £2k, preferably less, maybe slightly more at a push. requirements;
around group 7 ish
around 10 second 0-60
not too old
good looking

the obvious is a saxo vtr, fiesta zetec-s, but then i cant think of anythin else

Corsa 1.4 Sport isn't much slower to 60 than that. Can pick one up, and stick on a less restrictive inlet for £2,000 easily!

i dont know what insurance group they are but 106 rallyes are fucking excellent fun

peugeot 106 quicksilver 0-60 is approx 12 seconds

saxo vtr is just over 9 seconds

id rather get a vtr over a quiksilver, what are 1.4 sports like in comparison to a vtr? much slower? i know theyre built better

loads slower acceleration to 80 ish and loads worse handling, no where near as much fun

and rallyes are great but group 13 i think

its near enough that they are v fast for being 1.3 almost as fast as the gtis, quicksilvers are wank, can you not stretch to group ten insurance and get a 1.6 sport?

well i said group 7 as thats what a saxo vtr is which is all ive had a quote on so far, but that came in at £1600 so not payin more than that really

same as me, i sold my corsa c 1.4 sri and to be honest it isnt a patch on vtr performance wise, try and get a hase 2 vtr as they have 10 more bhp

i was thinkin pound for pound vtr will prob be best for performance/handling, just couldnt think if there was much more. mk1 rallye is a bit old really and mk2's are either silly money or silly mileage

Yeh they are great little cars, this is pretty cheap atm and only needs an arch trim, theres a good few days left on bidding yet but might be worth a look.
