I was driving down Manchester road (a641) as I approached some traffic lights (st Stephens road junction) I started to brake as the lights flicked to amber, a focus that had been quite close behind me, nearly went into the back of me I heard it skid (as my side-window was part down to help de-mist the other windows) I panicked and lifted off the brakes and went through the lights which had just flicked to red.
Thinking about it there were signs for traffic cameras and looking on the net there is apparently one there. Bit worried now in case I got flashed by it. Has anybody else been caught by one. Do you think I have reasonable grounds to contest it if I do get a fine through the door? Any advice anybody can offer me? Really wish I had kept braking and stopped but I thought the focus was going to hit me which I might have done (it was raining and there was a lot of water on the road), I just reacted didn't think at all really gutted now.

Hmm.... Don't rule it out, but the ones in Central Southampton flash if you jump them. There's also a bit of a a gap before they trigger usually so you might have been lucky!!
Have you been to bed yet? You was on when I got in from town

I'm not familiar with the area to be honest mate I was up there with work. I just remember seeing the traffic signal camera sign before the lights, but I didn't actual see a camera but I wasn't really looking, too busy looking in my mirror at the badger behind me
http://www.speedcamerasuk.com/database/YWY/ywy004.htm - Does this help I'm sure it was this set of lights.
