sittin in sainsburys car-park in colchester the other night waiting for a m8 who was in the store.
A vauxhall zafira (06 plate) parked opposite was innocently parked and locked. A white van pulls up, a guy jumps out with a hammer smashes the window, yanks the sat-nav system of the dash/windowscreen, hops back in the van which then drives off at speed, woah i thought!!! 
i went into the store and reported it to security etc
moral of the story- lock ur valuebles away when you leaves ur car

nah all too quick m8, anyway, gave a statement to the police etc, the owner is covered for it on his insurance so he can get it replaced fairly easily.
bloody thieves tho!

Also take the holders of the screen, and if leaving the car for a few hours or in a remote car park, wipe the screen too
