Since my mate died in October i havnt been up to see her grave as i was in Italy.
She was 20 when she died and really didnt like flowers etc etc (her funeral had no flowers and dance music in the funeral directors and me and 5 mates had to carry her in wearing white shirts and pink ties and jeans - was a nice funeral)
Im just wondering on what to take up with me when i go?
Card etc etc?
Little help people

Its always nice to write something personal. A piece of honest prose or a touching poem generally mean a lot more than meterial things.
Sorry for your loss.

I agree on the windmill, especially if you could find a pink one!
I think it symbolises fun and happyness whicjh im sure is how you would remember her
i can only Imagine how awful it must be to loose a friend at our young age

One of my friends died back in 1998 and every year since I take a card and a new teddy up there on the date.
The first time you go will be hard but every time I go now I think of good things we did together etc.

try a key ring of some sort of where you have been, my mate takes up a key ring to his friends grave if hes been away or to a car show of some sort.

Sorry for your loss mate.
Maybe write a small note ( similar to a card I guess ) and a teddy bear, that sounds like a good idea.

my friend died in a car crash in june,i seen him at 6:30pm and asked him to come for a drink,he opted out and went to the gym with 2 others.at 8:10 (less then 2 hrs later) he was dead at the scene.the other lads died aswell,1 the next morning from brain damage.i went to see his body at the funeral directors.wasnt nice but i wanted to do it as a last goodbye.i go up his grave when i can and normally take nothing but myself,my 1st time i took a rose that was it.he came pvs with me in 2006 so i put his ticket with a message on it in his coffin.just something that reminded me of the good times
i also said a poem at his funeral which on the 1st year anniversary i am framing and sticking it at his grave.
there nothing i can really suggest unless you think of something she liked.

Well i went up today and just took myself. Nothing else.
Puts everything into perspective when you see your mates grave stone. As soon as i saw the graveyards gate i broke down.
Still find it weird how i say 'im going to see sharron', knowing fine well that i will never see her.

My best mate died when I was 9, ive never been to his grave, didnt feel right at the time, I wasnt at his funeral & just never been up after. We were just kids though & it was a long time ago, probably best left that way. Another mate died about a year ago, took his own life.... I hav'nt been to his either, I dont think id like to go because theres nothing there really...there dead, id prefer to remember anyone as I do in my head, my way of dealing with stuff like this I guess

I can see myself going up there again to chill out when the going gets tough.
Its good for puuting things back to basics and making you appreciate what youve got, and not hurt over what you havent got.
