ITs classed as a kit car therefor has to be on a Q plate.
Bart, I can assure you, i've seen much much worse. You get allsorts, V8's, V6's, Beetle engined ones. And as they are 3 wheels you don't legally need to wear a crash helmet.
They are cool, and most are home made, and you do get some really nice examples, but thats a sh1tter

How is it a detah trap - it would have had to have had a full SVA test and still have to be MOTed every year. If it failed any element then it would never have been given a plate.
As for 'Q' plate, if it had come from a CAT C or D or no CAT donor car then he could have used that plate. If its CAT B or the engine was sourced with no reliable information as to its age or history then it would be Q plated.
Mates building a 2.0 Zetec engined MEV Rocket kit car at the mintue; the enigne came out of a Cat B focus; in orde rto get a standard plate though; he bought a shitter of a fiesta; fitted the engine, resgistered it and then took the engine out again - essentially bringing the engine back itno the uncatagorised domain

what do you think a Q plate is? I'm confused by your statement - do you think that its always a vehicle which is written off?
It can also be a vehicle which is constructed using parts of undeterminable age or history - so there may not be a single dmaaged part on the trike; its just that the engine came from one place, the drive off another, the front end of another and so on
