any make or is there a good one to use, as im running around 210bhp or does that make no difference?

normal GM 10w 40 will be fine.

I was told to use something slightly thicker in a high power xe 15w40 or if for race or trackday 20w50, thats what i run in my 226 bhp xe

Any idea on your oil temps? 50 weight oil is a bit thick IMO

aint sure on oil temps, think i will just got for GM 10w 40 then, would motor factors still have oil filters?

Road use? Then just use GM 10w40

Competition? All the lads round here with c20xe engines running 260bhp+ use millers 20w50 fully synthetic because it takes much higher temps before it loses its viscosity.

I have just finished a very good book on engine oils

yes, its the same oil filter that most of the vauxhall range use
