Tonight the battery light came on the dash on my Calibra, and on the volt meter its reading below 12v, I just managed to get it started, but I need the car for work tomorrow, I could smell a burning plastic smell coming through the vents, My thought was it is probably the alternator has fucked, so on inspection all looked well, but then I touched it, are they meant to be so hot you cant touch them or is it a sign its broke?
Iv posted this hear instead of help zone for quickness as if it dost run tomorrow I cant get to work.

Thats how mine went, alternator had blown up. Hope you havent left the battery on, it will either be flat in the morning or it will have set your car on fire
