What you want is a nice 2.5 V6 156 though! they make a nice sound

Always liked th elook of these - especially the GTA version. Don't think I'd ever have confidence in the reliability though .

Neighbour's 156 has developed a fault in the ECU where the car cuts out at random intervals, he took it to the closest franchise of the multi-franchise group he aquired it the car & they told him to drive the car 30 miles to the one that specialises in Alfa DOH he was not amused

Friend of the family had a 1.8 156 when they first came out. He started it up as they were leaving and I said to my dad I was surprised he'd got a diesel to which he replied - It's not a diesel .

Yeah the cam variators starve of oil if you dont let them warm up/only do short trips. Sound bad on idle if it gets worn.

My dad had one of the early ones for 7 years, I had it for just over a year after him it didnt do anything bad in the whole time. I have heard alot of storys tho!!

It was only a few months old - That said he'snevrr been the lightest footed person

Selispeed is a major problem with Alfa's, get a proper manual V6 and your fine
