GF has an R reg corsa 1.0 12v breeze, ran into the back of somebody.
Car has only done about 23k miles but I estimated a book of about 1200 for insurance purposes.
They garage wrote it off as the quote to repair was 2200, insurance are saying repairable and have told the garage to go ahead

I'd have argued the point cos I wouldn't want it back but I don't know what they're playing at.

How does this happen? I was sure it was 2/3's of the cars value as a general rule of thumb?

How strange.
When I got knocked off my bike, it had a book value of £1200, the repairs would cost more than that so I recieved the book value in my account. I presumed this was always the case.
