if everyone went by parkers prices then people buying cars would be very happy and people selling would be in tears.
parkers said my old ibiza was worth £3200 when i bought it over a year ago, cat d write offs still go for more than that!

its based on average market prices, just because a car enthusiast wants to pay more for a certain car doesnt mean all of them in the whole country are instantly worth that.
parkers dont just pluck the prices out the air

Im almost positive (industry) used market values put the GSi at sub £7k last time I checked.
Think the Clio 172 (Phase 2) was achieving better residuals against same plates and mileages to the GSi.

when buying specific models it will mainly be an enthusiasts looking. Dorris from Simple Town isn't going to go out car hunting and think "oooo i really want a mk4 astra gsi"

The gsi is like a good house location imo, worth paying extra for a good'un.
me beeing a vauxhall geek would pay up to 7.5k today for the right example

noticed a few on the trader between 6.5k and 7.5k, when i checked about 1/2 a year ago the prices were about 1k more, values have dropped, its just finding the decent ones i guess? but most "enthusiast cars" would of probably had a hard life?

why do they all have hard life, mine has had full vauxhall service history, oil changes every 3k and no ounce spared on keeping it clean and tidy, i let it warm up and cool down after use even if i do drive it spirtitally on occasions, if a car is looked after its fine.
i would try to gauge the charecter im buying a car from and sus him out let him drive the car on test drive and see if he lets it warm and cool down, and if it just tries to show you how fast it goes, if above is the case i would walk away, the lad i brought my gsi from was enthusiast and it has been a diamond after one year of ownership

They all havent had a hard life!
Granted mines been around the ring
But it gets regular servicing / oil changes etc and is still good as gold
Its the first vauxhall turbo I have owned that I spend weekends making better rather than fixing problems!
