As some of you might know ive been looking into getting an xe conversion done, my plan is to get it all in (and fix all the millions of problems im bound to get) before PVS

Now would you -

Buy the lump and keep it at home so I can service it with a few new parts and possibly upgrade certain things for better performance ones then take engine to get put in mine.

Buy a doner car with a c20xe in and then keep it at home for a month or two and then take both cars to get the engines swaped over. (This would proberly be the more expensive option depending on the condition of engine and also havent got a lot of room to keep another car)

I reckon the car.

If you've considered it you must have the space

Would be good to see how the engine runs, and as above, to sell parts and recoup some costs,

I suggest a rotten cavalier gsi for that

I was actualy thinking if I could find a mint corsa with an xe for under a grand then I could put my 1.4 in that, xe in mine then sell the corsa and possibly just possibly get my money back

Doubtfull but I reckon it could be done

Buy an Astra GTE.

Take front + Rear brakes off + Engine

Sell practically everything else, get a free engine and brakes.........

We done with with Donnas LET. Bought a whole car, sold everything else. Engine ended up costing about £200 becuase of it. Not the £1500 people somehow seem to think they are worth online......... (We paid only slightly more for a whole Calibra Turbo!!! Which we drove about for a few days).

Yeh but surely selling just the shell wouldnt get much more than 200 quid and the cars ive been looking at like xe calibras and cav sri's are going for anything between 600 - 1000 + possibly more depending on condition.
