Recently I reversed into a neighbours car. Obviously it was my fault, his car was damaged but did nothing to mine.

I'm fully comprehensive and was expecting to have to pay the excess on my policy but according to my insurance company (Elephant), because im not claiming for any damage to my car only the one I hit I dont have to pay any excess.

Does anyone know "for sure" that this is the case cos i was suprised when i was told this.

Thanks.

Not sure, but if thats what your insurance company are telling you then just got for it!

Make sure you get it on paper though.

Who were you insured with and did you not claim for your own car?

I just phoned elephant again and spoke to someone else to check and they said the same thing. Was expecting to shell out the £350 excess
