Yes, I remember the time somone drove thier works van through our wall at the end of our farm. The guy was so pissed he fell out the car and told me not to tell the police and ran off. I called the police, they set the dogs on him after finding him hiding in a bush, job done

Those courses are optional, but they reduce your ban by 25%.

optional if you're close to the limit, and the magistrates like you. i really doubt he will be offered the course

False, my mate got out of points but took a larger fine IIRC for attending it, his was a speeding offence though? Apparently only 3 forces offer that?

Oh, regarding the 'leaving the scene' thing, you have 24 hours to report it...

OK, so my first point is null.

The second point is still valid.

Right the outcome of this was

Turns out he was covered on the car and technically he didn't leave the scene as there was only him involved but for being 3 1/2 times over the limit he got a 12 month ban and £300 fine. The ban can be reduced and if he does a drink drive awareness course he doesn't have to take any form of test to start driving again.

Fair or not discuss??

So if he was the only party involved, all it is, is drink-driving? 12months seems a bit low, but it all depends on previous convictions

I personnally think its a fucking piss take to be honest. 12 months and the chance of not taking the test again.

Totally agree with that, having a one chance method would be so much more effective.
Then if your caught driving once banned, straight to jail

Harsh but very fair in my non-drink driver eyes.

In my world, yes.
You knew you had been drinking and knew there was possibly still a chance of being over the limit.

i'd be prepared to bet a lot that youve driven marginally over the limit after drinking the night before
