You will get bored of a 1.8 Astra

5k i'd look at

Lupo GTi
Polo GTi
106 GTi/Saxo VTS
Clio 172 phase 1/phase2

Mayve due to you doing loads of miles why not look at a Lupo TDi sport? Group 6 insurance and with a remap quick enough?

Not a fan myself but what about a mk4 Golf 1.8T can be had for well under 5k and not so bad to insure? Can be made quick with a remap.

Jr had a Lupo TDi and he still misses it as it was fun as well as economical.

How many years no claims have you got? Think you need to own more cars before you can claim you will get bored of them

If i had 5k to buy a car again i would look at

Polo Gti

Lupo Gti

Corsa C 1.8 sri

Astra Sri turbo

Astra coupe turbo

im a bit of a vauxhall fan hence the choises, but for the money i would sway towards the polo for build quility or the corsa for newnes.

the astra are good all round cars but not all that fun in standard form, but what car is ?

Hmm your going to get fucked either way.

Jus buy something like a lupo tdi or anything sub group 10 and run it around for a year, means cheap insurance and cheap running costs which help once you got more ncb.

Otherwise our just going to be skinting yourself out on a 15 year old car.
