i have a wood effect in my car.
i would like to change it.

ive seen ebay kits but i dont think they would be that good

and there is that folitec carbon film...

just looking for ideas and pics if you have done it.

also will be looking at simply rubbing it down and painting it alu or similar

Think this is your best bet mate

Seen a few dash kits, they never seem to cover all the dash, so you might end up with little bits of wood effect showing

I'd stick the wood effect bits for sale on eBay. Sure someone will pay alright money for it all considering it must be reasonable rare. Then just buy plain plactis replacements and paint (if wanted).
