We know mst of the traffic wardens around St Helens, so we can get away with parking anywhere, my dad once parked at a bus stop why he nipped into the bank, cos the car park was full. When he come out a traffic warden was just putting a ticket under the wiper, dad walks up 'aw, you're having a laugh', warden turns round 'oh alright mate, didn't realise it was yours' then took the ticket off and ripped it off.

Either that or he is lying and is going to proceed with the ticket even though you have purchased a ticket

I didnt realise there was some law where you'r not allowed to park so many feet / meters from a junction opening. Almost fell foul of that a few months back!!

I once parked my car in a residents permit space. They hadn't been like that for long because I had never noticed, just thought it was a 30 mins short stay space. A traffic warden came out of nowhere and told me I couldn't park there. I thought that was good of him not to ticket me

But surely that's just common sense though.

aparently i heard they have to wait 5 minutes and if the car isnt moved in that time they issue the ticket, if you drive away in that 5 minutes they take your details but no ticket?!? thats what one of em said to me when i was parked in the wrong place!!!

It was a situation where spaces were slim & folk were parking anywhere. I was about 3 cars in from the T-junction which was a quiet road into a business unit. I got to the car & he'd booked 3 cars already & said mine was going to be next!!
